Dear Viking Scholars and Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year at William R. Davie Middle S.T.E.M. Academy!

Last year, our school community demonstrated what is possible when students, families, teachers, and staff unite around a common purpose. Together, we achieved significant academic growth, strengthened our school culture, increased student opportunities, and continued our journey toward becoming one of the premier middle schools in North Carolina. While we are proud of our progress, our work is not finished. This year, we will build upon that momentum as we continue our pursuit of excellence.

Our theme for the 2026–2027 school year is "Accelerate, Achieve, and Ascend." We are committed to accelerating student learning, achieving ambitious goals, and ascending to new levels of success in academics, leadership, character, and innovation.

At Davie, we believe every student can succeed when provided with high expectations, strong support systems, and meaningful opportunities to learn. As a STEM-focused academy, students will engage in rigorous instruction, hands-on learning experiences, engineering design challenges, career exploration opportunities, and real-world problem-solving that prepares them for high school, college, careers, and life.

This year, our focus remains clear:

• Academic Excellence – Ensuring every student grows and achieves at high levels in literacy, mathematics, science, and all content areas.
• STEM Innovation – Expanding opportunities for inquiry, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving through authentic STEM experiences.

• Positive School Culture – Maintaining a safe, supportive, and respectful environment where every student feels valued, connected, and challenged.
• Family and Community Partnerships – Strengthening collaboration with families and community stakeholders because student success is a shared responsibility.

Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to ensuring that every Viking scholar is known, supported, and challenged to reach their fullest potential. We will continue to provide enriching field experiences, engaging extracurricular opportunities, targeted academic supports, and innovative instructional practices designed to help students thrive.

Families, thank you for your continued trust, partnership, and support. Together, we will continue writing the next chapter in Davie's story, one marked by growth, achievement, opportunity, and excellence.
