A Mid-Year Message from the Principal
Viking Strong. Viking Proud. Viking Forward.
As we reach the midpoint of the school year, I want to pause and celebrate just how far we have come together as a Viking community. What is happening at William R. Davie Middle STEM Academy is powerful, purposeful, and something we should all be proud of.
This year has truly been Our Year to Lead, Learn, and Level Up, and our Vikings are doing exactly that.

2nd Place Winner – 2025 North Carolina School Boards Association Middle School Video Contest

2025–2026 Roanoke Middle School Athletic Association Football Champions 🏆

Girls Volleyball Conference Runner-Up (2nd Place) in the RMSAA

Established an operating PTO, strengthening family and community engagement

Hosted our 1st Annual Fall Carnival, bringing Viking City together

Band Program growth from 16 to 63 students

Students are learning music theory, sight reading, and performance skills

Hosted 1st Annual “A Viking City Christmas” featuring band and student solo performances

Looking Ahead
While we are proud of how far we’ve come, we are just getting started. The second half of the year will focus on deepening instruction, strengthening student voice, expanding opportunities, and continuing to build Viking City into a place where excellence is the expectation.
